What’s So Great About Retreat?

Next Friday, October 14, 12 blessed women are heading away for the weekend to the Fall Retreat to have time at Jesus’ feet.

Write it on your calendar...

Will you join with us to hold them in prayer? … that God would surround each one with His presence and minister as only He can.

As excited as they are to get there, He is even more!

Waiting with everything they need, even to reveal mysteries there is no way for them to figure out on their own (Jer 33:3, one of my absolute favorite verses)

Oh, how we need time with Him!  Not only for answers but for salve on our souls, relief from anxiety and assurance to the deepest crevice of our heart who we truly are.

They will come away different as He speaks living words, lights up bible verses, heals inner wounds, brings clarity in what He’s called them to, instruction for their relationships and so much more; changed forever as He is faithful to His promise that if we seek Him we will find Him, if we seek Him with all of our heart.

If this retreat didn’t work in your schedule, never fear.  He’s the best date, always cooking up a wonderful surprise for where He can have time just with you. All we have to do is pause, look in His direction and ask Him what He has in mind.

A day or weekend in nature, working in the garden talking only with Him. Driving the country roads. Time at the prayer cabin or another retreat space.  A day of writing with Him filling your soul and anointing your pen. Time with worship music, bible... or standing in icy waters with your fishing pole, eyes and heart attentive to Him in prayer.

Religion tries to make rules of what time with Him, worship or communion can look like.  Our God is not about rules, He’s about freedom.  There’s no better time than glorious fall to be convinced of how boundless He is.

For me, with my husband unexpectedly away this weekend and a cancellation for the prayer cabin, I hear the Lord calling, “Here is our chance.”  His invitation for our time together.

Retreat can look like so many things, the important part is that you ask Him how He would direct you and then when you go there or do that thing, do it differently.. do it as your “date”, focusing entirely on Him with Him and receive all He has.

I can’t wait to hear all about it!
